Welcome to the world of Second Grade. I am honored and pleased to accept the responsibility and to have the privilege of guiding your second grader through this most exciting year.
I have been a Springwoods staff member for 24 years! I spent the first ten of those years in first grade, nine more in third grade and now find myself at home in the second grade. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with degrees in Socialogy and Psychology, and spent twenty exciting years as an Air force wife and mom to three wonderful children. It was my children and their experiences that lead me toward a career in teaching. I graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Elementary Education and I taught gifted and talented education in California before moving back to Virginia. Since coming to Springwoods, I have earned a Masters in Education, recieved Prince William County's Outstanding Service Award, and attended many classes and workshops to keep current with the best practices. I am grateful to have touched so many lives and to have shared so many smiles. It is the children who have taught me to be the teacher I am. I am fortunate to work in an excellent school with an outstanding staff and supportive parents. I look forward to meeting and working with you as we encourage your child to "Reach for the Stars" | |
